Help Bel Air 'Paint the Town Pink'

Bel Air Downtown Alliance is partnering with Upper Chesapeake to support local cancer care.

The Town of Bel Air is working to “Paint the Town Pink” in an effort to raise cancer awareness.

In a partnership with The Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation (UCHF), Bel Air Downtown Alliance is supporting National Cancer Awareness Month and celebrating opening of the new Kaufman Cancer Center on the campus of Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.

During the entire month of October, downtown Bel Air will be “Painting The Town Pink” in support of cancer care in the community.

“One of our founding board members is on the foundation for the UCHF and expressed they wanted to do something with us,” said Scott Walker, executive director with Downtown Alliance. “It was kind of the perfect storm of two ideas developing independently of one another and it all came together.”

To help “Paint the Town Pink” area residents can join in by purchasing a Pink Slip at participating Bel Air businesses. With a $1 or more donation, the Pink Slip will then be displayed in the store.

Walker said they are hoping to continue the “Paint the Town Pink” initiative each year, and get even more people involved.
