Bel Air Liquors' Move Coming Soon

The business is expected to open the last day in May at its new location, owner Larry Dean says.

“We’re trying to get open by the 31st," he said Monday. “We’ve got a lot of work to still get completed, but if they work all week and through the weekend I think they’ll be able to get it done."

Dean said last week that opening the new location after Memorial Day would mean moving less alcohol from the Hickory Avenue location, across from the , to the new building.

Dean told Patch interview that the new 6,500-square-foot space will allow the business to expand its wine and craft beer sections.

He has said the move was sparked by the county’s purchase of his existing property, and the fact that his business has outgrown its current location.

He bought the new store's property in 2009.
