Court Date Postponed for Former Commissioner

Terence Hanley was initially scheduled to appear in court Tuesday in a legal dispute with Harford Bank over a loan.

 

Former Bel Air Commissioner was scheduled to appear in  at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in a legal  dispute with over a $570,000 loan.

The appearance has been postponed and a new court date has not been set.

The Harford Bank that Hanley’s company, Hanley Investments LLC, defaulted on the loan that was issued in December 2009. The money was to be used to build houses in the 1000 block of Oak St. in Bel Air.

The bank contends , his company and his wife, Debra, defaulted on the loan because interest on the loan went unpaid for four consecutive months between November 2010 and February 2011, according to court documents.

Hanley contends that a payment of more than $30,000 was made to the bank, but was never credited.

He lost his seat as a Bel Air commissioner in the .
