'Holidays On Main' Supports Hometown Businesses

The Bel Air Downtown Alliance is sponsoring "Holidays on Main" to support local business.

The is trying to give the community a big gift this year: your business.

"When you spend in your local community, nearly 70% of the money stays in the local community compared to less than 40% when you spend at a national retailer or 0% when you buy online," writes the group's executive director, Scott Walker, in a press release.

The booster organization's Holidays On Main provides "a variety of activities that will help" residents to spend locally, an effort that is also being promoted by a national campaign called Keep The Cheer Here.
