Kohl's Offers Scholarships, Prizes To Youth Volunteers

Through the middle of March, Kohl's Department Store is accepting nominations for the 2012 Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program.

is recognizing young volunteers across the nation with a scholarship program, and with two stores in Harford County, our local youth have a shot at the grand prize.

Now through March 15, the Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program is accepting nominees between the ages of 6 and 18 whose volunteering has left a positive mark on the community.

"Through the Kohl’s Cares® Scholarship Program, Kohl’s recognizes young volunteers who dedicate their time, energy and passion to helping others and bettering the communities we live in,” Julie Gardner, Kohl’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said in a press release.

Two nominees from each of the more than 1,100 Kohl’s stores nationwide will win a $50 gift card, according to the release. and more than 200 will win regional scholarships worth $1,000 toward post-secondary education.

Ten national winners will receive $10,000 in scholarships for post-secondary education and a $1,000 donation on their behalf to a nonprofit organization, according to a release.
