MaGerk's Named 2012 Bel Air Business Of Year

The recipient is chosen by the Bel Air Board of Commissioners.

One Bel Air business was honored Thursday for going above and beyond in community service throughout the year.

MaGerk's Pub and Grill was named the Bel Air Business of 2012 during a the Bel Air Economic and Community Development Commission business of the year and Archer-Bull design awards banquet Nov. 8, according to a release from the commission.

The award is given each year to a business and individual that has contributed most to community development and volunteer service.

MaGerk's has sponsored local organizations with Nonprofit Nights on Wednesdays. The events include a 10 percent kickback to a different nonprofit each week.

Bridget Lloyd, one of the partners in MaGerk's, accepted the award during the banquet at the Liriodendron Mansion.

The commission also honored Upper Chesapeake Medical Center with the Archer-Bull Award for overall design excellence. Architectural firm
HKS Inc. and Bovis Lend Lease construction company were recognized for
their work on the hospital, according to the release.
