Main Street Oyster House Hosts Festival for Grand Opening

The establishment formerly known as the Dark Horse Saloon celebrates new identity.

At the grand opening of the Main Street Oyster House, there will be plenty of oysters and hopefully lots of toys.

The restaurant formerly known as the Dark Horse Saloon is undergoing renovations until next week, when it officially reopens Oct. 12 with its inaugural Main Street Oyster & Wine Festival.

The event, which the Harford County Liquor Control Board approved this week, is a fundraiser for Toys for Tots. Main Street Oyster House asks that people bring toys as donations, and a portion of the day's proceeds will go to Toys for Tots.

Guests will find a new seafood menu, including oysters and oyster shooters. Wines from around the world will be offered, in addition to $1-a-shuck oysters and $1.50 grilled oysters.

There will be a moon bounce from noon to 5 p.m., in addition to family friendly activities like pumpkin painting, face painting and a costume contest.

Little Ozzy from America's Got Talent is among a lineup of musicians performing throughout the day. Dueling pianos will play from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

There is no cover to the Main Street Oyster & Wine Festival, which runs from noon to 10 p.m. at 119 S. Main St. in Bel Air on Saturday, Oct. 12.
