Melinda Craig Joins Upper Chesapeake Board

The wife of County Executive David Craig was appointed to Upper Chesapeake Health Board of Directors as well as its Hospitals' Boards of Directors.

 announced Monday that Melinda L. Craig—the wife of Harford County Executive —has been appointed to the boards of directors for the medical system and its two hospitals. 

A Havre de Grace High School graduate who earned an associate's degree in education from Harford Community College, Mrs. Craig worked at Aberdeen’s WAMD Radio before raising the couple's three children. She returned to work in the banking industry for 17 years and retired from BB&T, according to a press release.

“The Board of Directors of Upper Chesapeake Health chose Melinda Craig because she has a sincere interest and enthusiasm for healthcare in our community.  Additionally, we like representation from all over Harford County and Melinda is a long-time resident of the City of Havre de Grace. She is a welcome addition,” said Lyle Sheldon, chief executive and president of Upper Chesapeake Health, in a press release.

Craig "is a member of the Harford Community Action Agency Advisory Board and the Chesapeake Professional Women’s Network, and also serves on the Harford United Charities Board and Board of Trustees for the Center of the Arts," the press release states. "Melinda has been involved with numerous fundraising ventures including, most recently, the Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding Center."
