Moore's Candies on Main Street Closes

Bel Air's downtown candy shop's owners said they will focus on wholesale distribution.

One of downtown Bel Air's sweet tooth fixes closed Saturday.

, which was at 10 N. Main Street, had a note posted on its door stating the business will "focus on ... wholesale accounts." The note was signed, "Thank You, Jim-Ray& Dana."

On the company's website, father and son, respectively, Jim and Dana Heyl are listed as owners.

The note also says purchases can still be made on the company website, in stores and at Lombardo's in Jarrettsville. The only remaining Moore's Candy location is at 3004 Pinewood Ave. in Baltimore.

The Bel Air location is still listed a "new location" on the Moore's Candies website.

Calls to the business Sunday night were not answered.

I know their candy is exceptional, but 2 years ago I went in to buy some Easter candy (very small butter cream eggs) and I walk out empty handed when I asked how much they were...I think they were $2.00 a piece!
