Officials Seek Design Changes for Planned Bel Air Walmart

Design officials requested the changes for the retailer's controversial new location.

Harford County officials are seeking changes for a planned Bel Air Walmart.

The Aegis reports officials are awaiting design changes including tweaking the movement of trucks and pedestrian patterns, as well as the parking layout for the planned store at Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway and Old Emmorton Road

Some elected officials, including County Executive David Craig and state Del. Glen Glass, asked the company to consider other options, including expanding at another location.

Residents in Abingdon have expressed concerns about the retailer's plans to close the store there with the opening of the planned Bel Air location. Other residents have expressed concerns about traffic, crime and property values around the new store.
