The Forest Hill Planet Fitness is located at 1449 Rock Spring Road in the Rock Spring Center located at the intersection of MD Route 24 and Bynum Road.

The business opened April 2 and fills space formerly occupied by Tuesday Morning and . Tuesday Morning moved next door.

"We are known as the judgement-free zone," Planet Fitness Assistant Manager Paul Shapiro said.

He said the gym is geared toward general fitness and has a licensed trainer who can provide tailored routines to any member free of charge.

"We are a fully equipped gym with 90 pieces of cardio [equipment]," Shapiro said.

The Forest Hill location also has an ab area, 30-minute full body workout circuit and 1,000 classes a month. Shapiro explained there are two membership options the first including a $10 month-to-month plan.

"We'd like to thank all the Forest Hill members for joining. We appreciate all the business," Shapiro said.

If I didn't have access to a gym for free, I'd definitely consider PF. They have great equipment, and they're no more than .25 miles from the house. I could jog there to warm up and jog back to cool down.

I use to belong to the one in Abingdon but stop going because I live in Aberdeen. I wish they would bring one to Aberdeen..

They're actually counting on you to join, work out for a month or two, then stop altogether while they continue to auto bill you for several months. Then, you'll hum and haw about calling them up to cancel the auto bill while they make snarky comments to you.

I love PF. I used the one in Bel Air. Told them I was going to go away for the Air Force. They gave me two months free and were always very accommodating with everything. Really recommend this gym!

It truly is a great work out center. The Staff is genuinely happy to see you as you are greeted with a big smile and salutation. Plus, they are always willing to assist you with any questions or concerns. The equipment is outstanding and easy to navigate through the available instructions. Also, the environment is healthy while taking deep breaths as your workout progresses. I have worked out in other facilities where this is not the case. You need good clean 'make up air' to enjoy your exercising and Planet Fitness has that. A huge thumbs up for PF!

I have had a great experience at Planet Fitness. It was necessary for me to cancel my membership due to newly acquired access to a free gym, so I walked in, signed the form saying I wanted to cancel, and that was that. The guy at the desk smiled and wished me a pleasant day, and let me know that if I wished to reinstate my membership, I was welcome to do so, and could keep my current member number. I was in and out in five minutes. No complaints here!
