1 Trapped in Rollover Crash in Edgewood: Officials

Restaurant, Fashion Retailers Coming to Boulevard At Box Hill

Several stores are set to fill a newly constructed building between JCPenney and Wegmans in Abingdon.

As JCPenney at the Boulevard at Box Hill prepares for its official opening Friday, another building located between the department store and Wegmans is drawing community attention.

At least six new businesses are expected to join JCPenney and Wegmans in the two-level building on the Boulevard, Tom Fidler, senior vice president for commerical real estate developer MacKenzie Retail, wrote in an email to Patch Tuesday.

While the building is still under construction, a number of businesses have already committed to leasing the space.

The Spa at the Boulevard, Accents Jewelry, Pet Valu Boutique and ATI Phys. Therapy are set to occupy the building once it is complete, Fidler wrote.

"We are in the process of finalizing the leases with one more retailer, and an Asian Fusion Grille restaurant that will be located on the main level, adjoining the outdoor patio area," Fidler wrote.

He added that fashion retailers will be named in the coming weeks.

What else would you like to see come to the Boulevard at Box Hill? Leave a comment?

sephora is inside JCPenneys so I doubt we'll see an Ulta. This area definitely needs more restaurants and I don't mean another Chili's or Applebees. Didn't need another Panera or Crab Shack. California Pizza Kitchen would be nice. Thought this place was going to be built up like Hunt Valley. What about a Readings and Greetings?

OMG, I thought we were getting a Cheesecake Factory! Wasn't that reported?

Would love to see California Pizza Kitchen. A vegan place to eat. Greeting and Reading. Trader Joes. Or some kinda Organic/ international store.

How about some upscale dining...enough of this chain restaurant crap and family dining! Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel would be nice but they are not that far away as they are already in Towson and in Delaware.

Don't think we could ever get Wolfgang Puck or Bobby Flay or Emril to open restaurants here in Harford County but it sure would be nice!
Lynda L October 03, 2012 at 03:39 PM
Enough with all the restaurants and enought with all the Bank branches. Harford County needs retail stores so that you are not forced to drive to White Marsh if you are in need of nice clothing items - thus allows the funds to remain in Harford County.

I'd say Cheesecake Factory or Carrabas...

As a representative of Spa on The Boulevard, we are very excited to be one of the many fine retailers and restaurants of Box Hill.
Bernadette October 05, 2012 at 01:32 AM
I'd like to see a Chico's clothing store.

This list of potential reatilers/restaurants was posted a while back by Tom Fidler of MacKenzie Retail. "I have a running list of potential retailers such as Anne Taylor Loft, Soma, Black House/White Market, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Off Broadway Shoes, Ralph Lauren, Casual Male, Sephora, PF Changs, Carrabas, Cosi, Coal Fired Pizza Grill, several Asian Fusion Restaurants, and a few dessert type tenants. Signifigantly, we will be announcing the anchor tenant for Phase II later this summer; site planning and review are underway now. Keep the ideas coming, and thanks."

Let's put any of these things at 924 and Plumtree instead of a Walmart! The community understands that the property is zoned B3 but it needs to be appropriate business that complements the already developed area.
John CUMMINS JR. October 12, 2012 at 07:00 PM
I bet you shop at Walmart. Walmart has been in my backyard for 20 years and never had a problem. Where were you before it was B3.? If no Walmart then it could be a Detention Center. Is that what you want
Dawn October 18, 2012 at 05:03 PM
I am all for a Potbelly Sandwich or an Italian Restaurant.
Kb October 23, 2012 at 01:44 AM
JCP will be opening a Disney store inside in 2013!
