Sonic Hiring After Recent Groundbreaking

New eatery is filling 30-40 positions.

The Bel Air Sonic Drive-In is on schedule to open in early April, and the business is now hiring.

Owner Rick Joshi told Patch this week that things are moving smoothly with the Bel Air location.

“We’ve already broke ground—that was this week,” Joshi said.

There's a trailer set up on the property on Maryland Route 924 next to Walgreens to facilitate the hiring process, he said.

The trailer is near the intersection of Plumtree Road and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Joshi said.

Joshi said the business needs a number of daytime people and should hire between 30 and 40 people to staff the fast food restaurant.

Applications have started rolling in already, in part because of the proximity to Patterson Mill High School and the young people there looking for jobs.

“Our projected opening date is the week of April 9," Joshi said. "We're ready to rock-and-roll."
