Spa On The Boulevard To Open Saturday

The newest addition to the Abingdon shopping center was first announced in October 2011.

Spa on The Boulevard will this weekend become the newest business in the Boulevard at Box Hill shopping center in Abingdon.

The business, located at 3491 Merchant Boulevard, will officially open Saturday, Jan. 12, but started pre-booking at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9. You can make an appointment by calling 410-569-0100.

The spa joins Wegmans, JC Penney, PNC Bank and Panera Bread in the developing shopping center located off MD Route 924. The business is part of the Salon by Debbie line, which runs Spa on the Avenue in White Marsh and Spa in the Valley in Hunt Valley.

This shopping center is not designed very well for "walkability" between the places already opened. It would be nice if someone with a brain would design something that uses a "park in one spot and shop a few places" layout.Maybe once it i done it will be better but now it looks like no thought at all went into this center.

Malls are dead, it costs too much for heating and a/c, along with the competition from the Internet. This area looks like 5 strip malls (including one already across the street), put up together.I wonder who approves this stuff, car centric without any thought to design for people.
