Vacation Season, Why Pet Sitter Could Be Better Choice

Noah's Ark Pet Sitting services blog about pet sitting and why it could just be the answer to your vacationing needs for you and your pet.

When vacationing, pet owner's must decide what to do with their pets. Thus the question to kennel or not to kennel?

Chances are, you're feeling guilty if you're thinking of kenneling your pet due to knowing their stress while your away having fun. Let me give you some thoughts on why a pet sitter may be a better idea for you and your family member, aka pet.

There are many benefits to keeping fido home while you are vacationing. Number one: less stress and less risk of illness due to being subjected to a lot of other animals. A lot of animals won't even eat in kennels due to the high amounts of stress they feel.

There is no room for changing your return plans from vacation should you run into delays. The Kennel expects you home at a certain time and, may not be able to work with you. At home, your loved one will be able to run around their own surroundings where they feel safest and secure, no cramped cages or being alone at night with unknown territory and animals. The Pet sitter is strictly dedicated to making YOUR pet feel happy and loved.

Your pet will recieve one on one attention with your pet sitter for at least 30 minutes a few times a day, versus a kennel having to give a lot of animals attention. There is no guarantees your pet will receive much attention at all, unfortunately. Pet Sitters can also give your home that at home appearance giving passersby the idea that you are home and not on vacation.

Plants are watered, newspapers picked up and mail taken in from the mailbox for you. Often times having a pet sitter is a cheaper option than having to kennel your animal. Your pet gets to know the pet sitter and develops a bond and relationship with that pet sitter. The Pet sitter will usually email you daily updates on how your loved one is doing while you are away. No more wondering and worrying while you're trying to have fun on vacation, especially if there are special needs with your pet or medication they need. If you're interested in a pet sitter there are things to think about. Make sure they are bonded and insured. Make sure they have a background check to ensure your not inviting the wrong type of person into your home. Make sure you have an initial consultation with them and invite them over just to let them get to know you and your pet. Having a pet sitter can be a very rewarding experience, especially for your loved one aka your pet.
