Bel Air Back in Business; Power Restored Downtown

If the operation is successful, power will be restored to the entire Main Street and Bond Street corridor.

UPDATE (10:15 p.m.)——Power has been restored to downtown Bel Air, save for Office Street and the courthouse, a dispatcher for the Bel Air Police Department said. Issues with wires in the area precluded those areas from having power restored.

UPDATE (7:27 p.m.)--A dispatcher for the Bel Air Police Department said BGE officials told them there was a problem with activating downtown power and it will be at least three more hours before electricity is restored to the Main Street and Bond Street area.

BGE may restore power to the Main Street and Bond Street corridor shortly after 6 p.m., according to a dispatcher for the .

The dispatcher said the power company will check a power line at 6 p.m., and if the fix they employed was successful there, electric will be restored to the rest of the area.

Power outages outside of the Main Street and Bond Street corridor, including Moores Mill Road, likely will not be solved by tonight's attempted fix, the dispatcher said.
