Black Bear Sightings Continue In Harford County

Two sightings were recently reported in Darlington.

Those sightings continued this weekend, when two sightings in Darlington were reported to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, according to a story posted on ExploreHarford.com.

"Our thinking is that it's the same bear," Ken D’Loughey, a regional manager with the Maryland Wildlife Heritage Service, told Patch in June.

A DNR official repeated this belief this week.

"I think it's reasonable to assume that it's the same bear," Ron Norris a regional wildlife biologist, told ExploreHarford.com.

The most recent sightings were on Peach Orchard and Deep Run roads off MD Route 136 in Darlington.

These reported sightings that took place earlier this summer.

Jason Sloan told that the bear was seen near a campground in Darlington on June 24.

Steve Ruth told Patch he saw the bear around 11 a.m. on July 23 at his home off Hughes Road in Darlington.
