Dog Missing From Bel Air

Codie ran away when the fireworks started Wednesday.

While many Bel Air residents were busy enjoying , one furry friend was trying to escape the sound.

Around 8:30 p.m. Codie, a brown and beige Sheltie, was startled by the fireworks and ran away from the home on Cool Spring Road in Bel Air where he was staying, according to an email from .

Karen Dunbar explained she and her family were watching Codie while his family was out of the country in Europe, according to an email Dunbar wrote to Patch.

While the 10-15 pound dog has tags, those tags have the name and number of his owners and she is concerned Codie won't make his way back to them because of it.

"We are trying to contact everyone to see if they have found him," Dunbar wrote.
