GET OUT: Theater, Charity, Johns Hopkins Festival

Donate your time to charity or attend a fun festival this weekend.

Make a difference and try something new and exciting this weekend.

 1. WEST SIDE STORY

Where/When: Through April 24 at the Hippodrome Theater. Most showings are at 8 p.m. but check the website for additional showings.

Why Go: Take a friend and enjoy a care-free night watching this classic Broadway show. The production will run for two hours and 45 minutes and is appropriate for children 13 and older.

Pricing: Tickets range from $20-$75 at Ticketmaster.

2. TOTEM

Where/When: Through May 1 under the Grand Chapiteau at the Westport Waterfront—2001 Kloman St., Baltimore, MD 21230

Why Go: Totem is guaranteed to entertain as it displays a visual and acrobatic interpretation of the evolution of the human species.

Pricing: Tickets range from $55-$225 and are available on the Totem website and the venue website.


3. A NIGHT IN PARADISE

When/ Where: Saturday, 7 to 11 p.m.,

Why Go: Enjoy a night filled with live music, a shrimp feast and a bull roast. Beer and wine will be provided, but bring your own liquor if you want to get the party started. Tropical attire is a must and all proceeds will benefit the Greater Bel Air Foundation, Inc.

4. WALK MS

When/Where: Saturday at Havre de Grace High School. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10 a.m.

Why go: Join local friends and families in a 3.2-mile walk to raise money for the National MS Society. This is a feel-good event that is great for people of all ages. All participants must be on the route and ready to walk by 10 a.m. For more information or to register call 443-641-1200. 

Pricing: As much as you would like to pledge.

 

5. JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY SPRING FAIR

When/Where: Friday, noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Johns Hopkins University, Homewood Campus

Why Go: Enjoy a fun-filled college fair with music, rides, games, children activities, crafts, food, and a beer garden for the adults. For more information call 410-516-8000.
