Humane Society Sells Items, Sweets To Benefit Animals

The "No Fleas" yard sale and bake sale is scheduled to take place Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on both days.

Homeless animals will get a boost next month through the sale of sweet treats and unwanted items.

The Harford County Humane Society is putting on a “No Fleas Flea Market" yard sale and bake sale in June with all proceeds benefiting the shelter's animals, according to a release from the humane society.

"Don’t fret if you don’t find a treasure – take home something sweet from the bake sale.  There will be a variety of cookies, brownies, cupcakes and other refreshments to tempt your sweet tooth," the release states.

The sale will be held inside the shelter’s Pole Barn and will spill out onto the grounds of the animal shelter at 2208 Connolly Road in Fallston.

The event is scheduled for Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The sale takes place during the same time frame both days rain or shine, according to the release.

In the mean time, is accepting donations of "gently-used items" for the sale. Donations of clothing, computers and computer accessories, and televisions will not be accepted.

Donations are tax-deductible and can be dropped off at the shelter Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays betwee 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.; and Sundays between noon and 4 p.m.
