Snow Plow Hits Bel Air Pole, Wires Down

An accident caused downed wires in the Bel Air area Wednesday afternoon.

A snow plow hit two utility poles near the Harford County Detention Center Wednesday afternoon, closing Rock Spring Road to traffic, fire officials say.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, a truck plowing snow in the area on Rock Spring Road, or MD Route 924, hit two utility poles, knocking down wires in the area, according to a Facebook post from Harford Fire and EMS spokesman Rich Gardiner.

No injuries were reported, but the roadway was closed to traffic because of the wires, the post states.
