Stop Signs, Parking Up for Discussion in Bel Air

The Board of Commissioners meeting will take place on a Tuesday this week because Monday was the Labor Day holiday.

The is expected to introduce new parking restrictions during its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Proposed restrictions include a 2-hour parking limit on the .

The resolution outlines several changes to existing parking zones, as well as the time limit for the recently completed parking lot at the former lot.

  • South side of Alice Anne Street between Hays and Williams streets: from 2-hour to 3-hour parking limit
  • Lee Street between Main and Bond streets: from 6-hour parking to 2-hour parking limit

There is also a proposal on the agenda to put a three-way stop sign at the intersection of Ridgewood Road and Howard Street and to remove the stop sign at Kenmore Avenue and Heighe Street.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to approve the town flood mitigation plan.

The federal government has already approved the plan, developed by community stakeholders. It identifies areas to improve to prevent future flooding.

This agenda item was tabled during the last town business meeting to give commissioners time to review the full document.

The town meeting is scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. in , located at 35 N. Hickory Ave.
