Veterans Day in Bel Air, Harford County

Find out what's closed and how to honor veterans for the holiday.

Government offices in Harford County will be closed Monday, Nov. 12, for Veterans Day, including the municipalities of Bel Air, Aberdeen and Havre de Grace.

Veterans Day is officially Nov. 11; however, Monday, Nov. 12, is considered a federal holiday. Non-essential federal offices and research facilities will be closed Nov. 12. Most banks will be closed, and there is no mail delivery through the U.S. Postal Service on Veterans Day.

In addition to city and county government offices, the Harford County Waste Disposal Center will be closed Monday and Harford Transit will not be operational.

Harford County Veterans Day Ceremonies

  • The Bel Air Veterans Day ceremony will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
  • Aberdeen will recognize Veterans Day with an 11 a.m. service Sunday in Veterans Memorial Park (Parke and Rogers street, near the library). The VFW, Korean War Veterans, Catholic War Veterans and the American Legion are sponsoring the event. In case of inclement weather, meet at Aberdeen Memorial VFW Post 10028.
  • In Havre de Grace, the American Legion Post #47 is coordinating an 11 a.m. ceremony on Monday, Nov. 12, at Tydings Park. In the event of rain, the service will move inside the legion post.
