Preston, Richards Named Bel Air's 2013 Commissioners

One incumbent reclaimed his seat while a newcomer joins the board.

Two men were elected commissioners in Bel Air's 2013 election.

Robert Preston and Patrick Richards will sit on the Board of Commissioners for the town of Bel Air.

"They’re the only two that ran," County Councilman James McMahan, who represents Bel Air, said at the Nov. 5 council meeting, announcing what he deemed must be the official election results.

According to the Harford County Board of Elections, the unofficial results after the polls closed at 8 p.m. were as follows:

  • Robert M. Preston, 93 votes
  • Patrick T. Richards, 89 votes
  • Write-in candidates, 6
Preston will begin his fourth term as commissioner, while Richards is new to the position.
