Community Corner

Auditions

Phoenix Festival
Theater, a community theater at Harford Community College, will hold auditions
for the musical The Music Man on
Saturday, March 15 from 12 to 4 PM and Monday, March 17 from 7 to 10 PM at the College’s
Chesapeake Theater.  If needed, callbacks
will be held on Tuesday, March 18 from 7 to 10 PM.

Follow fast-talking
traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into
buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – despite
the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef.  His plans to skip town with the cash are
foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a
respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

All roles are open to
children, teens, and adults.  Those
auditioning should bring sheet music and be prepared to sing 16-32 measures; an
accompanist will be provided.  Comfortable
clothing and appropriate footwear should be worn for musical/dance auditions.
