Community Corner

The Music Man

Phoenix Festival Theater, a community theater at
Harford Community College, will perform The
Music Man
June 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 7 PM and June 8 and 14 at 2 PM in the
College’s Chesapeake Theater.

Follow fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of
River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows
to organize – despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble
clef.  His plans to skip town with the
cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into
a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

The play will be directed by Roger Schulman, musically directed by Jeff Baker,
and choreographed by Kim Brueggemann.
The show is based on a book by Meredith Willson.

Tickets are $10-$20 and are available at tickets.harford.edu, the HCC Ticket
Office in the Chesapeake Center, or by calling 443-412-2211.  Reasonable accommodations for a documented
disability may be requested by calling Disability Support Services,
443-412-2402, in advance of participation.
A minimum notice of ten working days may be needed to provide some
accommodations.

The HCC Special Events & Performances Calendar is made possible by a grant
from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency funded by the State of Maryland
and the National Endowment for the Arts; grants from the Maryland State Arts
Council and the Harford County Government through the Harford County Cultural
Arts Board; and grants from other federal and state agencies.

This show is sponsored by BGE.
