Injured Bel Air Police Officers to Benefit from Fundraiser

The Bel Air Police Association organized a way to give back by dining out.

Officers from the Bel Air Police Department are inviting the public to dinner at Buontempo Bros. on Thursday night.

If patrons mention the police fundraiser or present this flyer at Buontempo Bros., the restaurant will donate 10 to 20 percent of the proceeds to the Bel Air Injured Officers Fund.

Recently, Bel Air Police Association Local #229 created the Injured Officers Fund to help individuals like Officer Kayhla Hendren.

Hendren was directing traffic on Williams and Nichols streets as firefighters responded to a reported kitchen fire on Nov. 20 when she was hit by a car. She was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with injuries officials said were serious.

As a result of the crash, Hendren suffered vision problems, a broken leg and torn ankle ligaments that required ongoing treatment after her Nov. 24 release from the hospital, according to WBAL.

By mentioning the fundraiser or presenting this flyer from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, patrons at Buontempo Bros. (1 S. Main Street) can support the Injured Officers Fund.

Can't make it to Buontempo? The Bel Air Police Association has a Paypal account for the Injured Officers Fund where people can donate.
