Beginning September 19, purse lovers can peruse designer handbags and place bids on their favorite bags for a worthy cause.
Saxon’s Diamond Centers presents Hope in Handbags “Denim and Diamonds” preview event Thursday, September 19, at the Bel Air Armory, according to a release. For a $5 donation you can be among the first to choose from an assortment of new and gently used designer handbags available for sale or auction.
Hope in Handbags will continue at the Armory on Friday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will feature handbags available for immediate purchase as well as silent auction purses donated by sponsors and stuffed with extras such as gift cards, jewelry, wine and spa products.
All silent auction items will also feature a “Buy It Now” price for those who don’t want to chance missing out on a purse they love.
All proceeds from the annual event will once again benefit Harford Family House, a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting homeless families with children in Harford County. Every $25 raised will help one homeless mother, father or child for a night.
“We look forward to another successful event and the opportunity to support homeless families in the Harford County community,” Harford Family House executive director Joyce Duffy said in a release. “We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors and vendor’s who have signed on to-date to support this year’s event."
Those who attend the preview event on September 19 can enjoy wine tastings courtesy of Mt. Felix Winery and music by professional singer/songwriter Melanie Ann Scheidl. Several vendors will also be in attendance including: Mary Kay Cosmetics, Two Sisters, Kelly’s Scarves, Coffee Coffee and Devine Creations
