Winters Run Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Wounded Warrior Project

Duraclean Services will host their third annual golf tournament September 26 at Winters Run.

On September 26, you can pull out your clubs and play a round of golf for a very worthy cause.

Duraclean Services, an emergency service restoration company in Forest Hill, is hosting their third annual golf tournament at Winters Run with proceeds benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.

"Being that this is an area that's around a lot of military, we have a lot of dealings with customers in the military and we see things firsthand," said Tim Criss a field manager with Duraclean. "We know the Wounded Warrior Project is a very good fundraiser that does tremendous things."

Criss said he has worked with an agent's whose fiancé served time in Iraq, and she raved about the Wounded Warrior Project and the things they did for her fiancé. So fundraising for the organization seemed like a logical choice for Duraclean.

Over the past two years Duraclean Services has raised more than $18,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project—about $9,000 each year—and this year they are hoping to top that.

"We would love to get to about $12,000 this year. That’s our goal," Criss said.

The cost for the tournament is $125 per person or $500 for a foursome, and includes a continental breakfast, 18 holes, practice facilities and awards at the end.

Criss said he really enjoys the celebration lunch at the end of the tournament.

"The favorite part to me is the luncheon afterwards," he said. "We supply drinks and food, and it’s a very relaxing and nice way to end the event. Everyone gets nice, fun door prizes and everyone seems to enjoy that."

The tournament will be held at Winters Run Golf Club in Bel Air Thursday, September 26, at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. To register contact Duraclean Services at 410-838-7330.
