Friday's Update on Same Sex Marriage Legislation

Same sex marriage update

After several Legislative Sessions and Hearings this past week, House Bill 438 “Civil Marriage Protection Act” passed by a vote of 71 to 67 (for the bill to pass it was necessary to have 71 votes).

If you think same-sex marriage should go to referendum, as I do, you can go to www.mdpetition.com – select ‘Contact Us’ then fill in your name, email address, type in your message and hit send.  You’ll receive periodic news and announcements from MD petitions to stay up to date on what’s happening with a petition drive.  As you know, I stand for traditional marriage and my convictions will not change.

My plan is to work hard to try to send this to a referendum to be sure this vote goes to the people to decide this very important issue, not the politicians!

Thank you for your encouragement and we are grateful for all your prayers.

Now why in the world would someone that is regularly demonized, discriminated against, bullied, and shown unbridled hatred and bigotry (by presidential nominees no less) have an increased rate of suicide, depression, and alcoholism?

Karl, We will be satisfied if you just do your own homework. Your if-you-don't-know-i'm-cetrainly-not-going-to-tell-you reactions say it all. Your ignorance has no bounds.

Oh goody...we acknowledge increased rates of social psychosis, but it's because we're treated unfairly? Just how does the reason for an unfit parent make for a suddenly fit parent? So apparently kids are worth sacrifice because gay people feel entitled? You tell me...

sp0t, only if your idea of "logic" and "reason" is cutting and pasting from another web site without crediting the source.

Thank you John, I'm glad you got my point although I didn't think it was tough to get, but I guess for some it was. As for alienating anyone I don't feel that I have, I like to call it a sense of humor. In fact I would feel comfortable in saying that any neighbor that I have had past or present would definitely tell you that they were never alienated by me, they would call me a good neighbor, one that shovels neighbors sidewalks, mows their lawns, brings their trash cans in, you know nieghborly things like that, and in turn some who thought like you in the beginning (Karl) realized that I am no different than them in how I wan't and do live my life.
