Let's stand up against these toll increases

toll increases

First let me thank the Bel Air Patch for letting me set up a Blog.

The In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants (Dream Act) petition drive is going well. We will send this to a vote by the people in 2012. The drive ends June 30th so keep sending in your signed petitions!

On another note: A lot of you in Bel Air feel as I do that these toll increases are wrong. They will hurt our families, businesses, tourism and recreation. The economy has already hit us hard enough and now this would be another increase we just can’t take. Families who need/have to use the bridges will be burdened with the extra expense and once again forced to cut back on something else.

There were over 1,000 citizens from Harford and Cecil Counties who came to the Perryville meeting and many of us stayed until midnight to be heard. I am so proud to be a Marylander, and especially proud of those of you who took the time to come and spoke so eloquently and boldly against the MDTA raising our tolls. They need to know we don’t agree and this just isn’t right!

I’m asking everyone who can attend the hearing to PLEASE come! Let your voices be heard and hopefully we can stop these increases!

Thank you and have a great day!

Glen Glass
