Amber Kreisel, Bel Air's Person of the Year for 2013

Kreisel is the founder of InTheGlow.

Young women in Harford County have a cheerleader in Amber Kreisel.

The Bel Air native started the nonprofit organization InTheGlow in April, designed to empower girls from the inside out. Kreisel said in her biographical YouTube video that she wanted to give encouragement to those who had not received it, since she felt blessed to have had so much support growing up.

Kreisel worked with local organizations and businesses to provide dresses and accessories for 150 high school-age girls in the area in the fall.

“She’s the kind of person that makes you want to do something,” Angela Saccenti, a marketing coordinator with the Arena Club, told Patch before a September fashion show at the club showcasing InTheGlow's dresses.

Since the fashion show, InTheGlow has expanded through a campaign called "GrowYourGlow" to offer yoga classes and workshops at a location in Churchville.

"I just want it to be a nonprofit movement that empowers young women on a real simplistic level,” Kreisel said. "It is women helping women by taking any blessing they have received, and using it to contribute to other women.”
