Moores Mill Road Project Wins Award at Paving Conference

Harford County earned recognition from the Maryland Asphalt Association.

A project to improve Moores Mill Road won an award at the Maryland Asphalt Paving Conference this week, according to Harford County Government.

The county project was recognized because it was finished nearly five months ahead of schedule and received positive feedback from the community, the county said in a prepared statement. Specifically, citizens praised the work and professionalism of the general contractor, Comer Construction in Forest Hill, and Harford County employees including project manager Carlos Smith and site inspectors Tom Pistel and Mark McDowell, the statement said.

Smith, of the Harford County Department of Public Works, accepted the award with Kingsville company Frank Goettner Construction. They were presented with a plaque at the 52nd annual "Hot Mix Asphalt Paving Conference," hosted by the Maryland Asphalt Association Thursday at Martins West.
