A sweet treat and a Saturday activity can be found at a single destination in Bel Air this Saturday.
From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., the will host the 11th Annual Chocolate & Candy Festival at the
The $5 admission for adults comes with four sample tickets for tasting sweets made available by chocolatiers, candy makers and other merchants.
Children under age 6 get in free and receive two free sample tickets. Additional sample tickets are $3 apiece.
While candy is the theme of the day, it's not the only draw at the event.
There will be a children's craft and activity area, sponsored by the Bel Air Athletic Club and APGFCU, with chocolate and candy themed activities for the kids.
The third annual Downtown Bel Air Scavenger Hunt is also scheduled to take place as part of the festival. The scavenger hunt sends participants on a downtown Bel Air adventure in quest of candy and prizes.
"The Chocolate & Candy Festival marks the official start to the event season in Downtown Bel Air. This is really the first time of the year that the community is invited out to Downtown Bel Air and to enjoy everything we have to offer. Chocolate, candy, and sweet treats are what we use to entice everyone to join us," , Executive Director of the Bel Air Downtown Alliance, said in a press release.
Vendors include , , , Stephanie's Sweets, , Bel Air Kettle Corn, Dove Chocolate Discoveries, Sweet Devotion Cupcakery, , Bruster's Real Ice Cream, Mary Sue Candies, Tastefully Simple, Rita's Italian Ice in Forest Hill, Grandma Whitley’s Creations, Flowers by Lucy and .
"This is a local event and we wanted to include as many of the local chocolate, candy, and sweet treat merchants as possible," Walker said.
