Bel Air Christmas Parade Slated for Sunday

The parade starts at 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Main Street at Churchville Road.

The town of Bel Air starts Christmas early with a holiday celebration on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Santa will be joined by floats and marching bands for the Christmas parade, which starts at 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Main Street at Churchville Road. The parade route ends at Lee Way and Hickory Avenue.

Caroling, cocoa, cookies and a bonfire will follow at 4 p.m. in Shamrock Park, where Santa Claus will oversee the tree and menorah lighting in a combined celebration of Christmas and Hanukkah.

The affair is a "cultural event that features the two great faiths of our nation," according to Harford County Councilman Jim McMahan, who described the tradition as "a learning experience for young and old alike." McMahan will be the emcee for the event.

The free Bel Air Christmas celebration is from 2:45–5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1.
