Snow Days- unless you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HAVE TO HAVE IT, dont go out.

Snow days are great for kids and teachers. It gives people time to stay in and relax a bit, but sometimes people don't exercise the best common sense and decide they want to drive in snowy conditions. I cant tell you the number of people that have had accidents going out in the snow for something they REALLY didn't need, and that includes toilet paper and milk. There are almost no small accidents anymore. The insurance companies usually consider an at fault accident one that cost over $1000 in repairs which includes your deductible. Almost no repairs come in under $1000. Then after that, you get a surcharge on your policy that stays for three years. .Some companies will continue to add charges (sophisticated price tiering) or they will remove claims free discounts for up to two more years. So, unless you absolutely, positively have to have it, don't go out. And don't let your teen driver go anywhere that is not absolutely important.
