One of the most cherished memories I have from when I was a little girl is making the annual trip to the mall to see Santa and tell him what gifts I’d been dreaming about all year long! It was a must-do event every year and I looked forward to it almost as much as Christmas itself. And though I no longer have American Girl Dolls and an Etch-A-Sketch on my holiday wish list, I still love to see the kids line up each year at White Marsh Mall to see Santa. Their eyes are so wide and when they finally do sit on his lap, they’re almost too excited to talk!
But for some children, coming to see Santa isn’t that simple. Whether due to an illness, affliction or condition, many children are unable to visit the mall to do something many kids consider to be a yearly tradition: telling Santa what they want for Christmas. Either because of the over-stimulation of the surroundings, immunity restrictions or any number of other health factors, coming to see Santa like all the other children is not a possibility.
White Marsh Mall wanted to change that. We think every child should get to see Santa no matter what their individual circumstances.
I’m very excited to announce that this year, we’ll be offering an opportunity for children with special needs to visit with Santa prior to when the set is officially open to the public. From 10am to 12pm on Sunday, December 2, any child with special needs will be able to see Santa without the usual crowds or commotion of a busy weekend at White Marsh Mall. Wheelchair access is available at the Starbucks entrance on the Lower Level.
If you or someone you know has a child with special needs and would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please contact the White Marsh Mall Management Office today for more information: 410-931-7101.
Happy Holidays to EVERYONE this year from White Marsh Mall!
