BLOG: It's That Time Again!

Its that time again, Ravens fans! The preseason excitement starts this week.

It's that time again Ravens fans! Time to get your favorite jersey out, buy the chips and dip and cheer on our home team. Thursday night at 8:00 will be the opening game of the Baltimore Ravens run to the Super Bowl against the Atlanta Falcons.

Being the 1st of 4 pre-season games, you probably wont see your favorite Ravens like Joe Flacco and Ray Rice for more then a quarter. Veterans like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed may not even see the field. Even though the players wont be out on the
gridiron often, you will get to see little known players that could be the
future of the team.

Rookies like running back Bernard Pierce and Cornerback Asa Jackson will be fighting for jobs on the team. The play might be a bit sloppy as this is the first time the players will be on the field in almost 7 months, but one thing is for sure, you will be seeing a LOT of energy!

It should be interesting to see star Running Back Ray Rice who this past offseason, signed a 6-year contract to stay in Baltimore. We will see if this recent pay-day will give him an extra boost, or if he will relax a bit. Either way, you will be sure to see him running all around the field tonight.

The Ravens first round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, LB Courtney Upshaw will not play. When Coach John Harbaugh was asked about Upshaw he said “He’s been out for over a week, so we probably want to get him to practice a little more before we play him.” Upshaw has been battling a shoulder injury and is expected to make his first start at home on Friday August 17th at home at M&T Bank
Stadium.
