Bel Air Menorah Lighting Draws Crowd

People filled Shamrock Park Tuesday evening for a menorah lighting ceremony and Hanukkah celebration.

Shortly before sunset, people started congregating in Shamrock Park, sharing food and holiday spirit.

organized a menorah lighting ceremony Tuesday evening to celebrate the start of Hanukkah. Before the ceremony, food, drink and fellowship filled the park.

"One of the messages of Hanukkah is that we must be lamplighters, our job is to kindle souls," Schusterman said .

County Executive David Craig lit the middle candle on the Menorah and Deborah Temple, president of Adas Shalom in Havre de Grace, lit the first candle.

The event welcomed at least 100 people. This was the second year for the event.
