Hometown Heroes: Daniel M. Frank

Banners illustrating hometown heroes like 1st Lt. Daniel M. Frank have lined Main Street in Bel Air since Veterans Day and will likely stay up through the middle of January.

First Lt. Daniel M. Frank of Bel Air is among 29 local service men and service women being recognized with in downtown Bel Air.

Frank has served in the U.S. Marine Corps, participating in the global war on terror. Peyton and Julianna Markel sponsored his banner.

The banners have lined Main Street since Veterans Day. Each banner honors someone in Harford County and the surrounding area who has served in the military.

The started the 2011 Hometown Hero Banner Program in observance of the 100th anniversary of and hope to continue the program next year.
