Maryland Public Television series Maryland Farm & Harvest features Harford County farms

Local Harford County farms and farmers will be featured in multiple episodes of the new Maryland Public Television series Maryland Farm & Harvest debuting this month.

 

Featured in an episode on Tuesday, November 26 at 7 p.m. will be Bauer’s Flowers.  Bauer’s Flowers, a family-owned and -operated business, uses computers to grow fine snapdragons using less water and fewer nutrients.  Bauer’s Flowers are sold wholesale throughout the eastern U.S.

Featured in an episode, airing on Tuesday, November 26 at 7 p.m. will be the Archer family.  The Archers of Pylesville will talk about Annie’s Project, a program created to teach women farmers a range of software and business skills, including accounting and social media marketing.

MPT’s Maryland Farm & Harvest had its premiere on November 19.  The program puts a human face on Maryland agriculture, telling the stories of the people who grow food and fiber -- from corn and soybeans to apples, poultry, milk and cheese.  From locations statewide, the series chronicles the successes of and the challenges to the state’s No. 1 industry.

 

The series airs on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on MPT-HD and is rebroadcast on Thursdays at 11:30 p.m. and Sundays at 6 a.m.  Each show will also re-air on the secondary channel MPT2 on Fridays at 6 p.m.

 

The Maryland Department of Agriculture is MPT’s co-production partner for Maryland Farm & Harvest. Major funding is provided by the Maryland Grain Producers Utilization Board.
