Edgewood Station Sports Bar and Grill

Anyone who lives or works in Edgewood is very well aware of the lack of good places to eat. You are stuck to either fast food or expensive choices. I am sure I am not alone when I say how excited I was when I noticed in July that there was a new restaurant opening. Edgewood Station Sports Bar and Grill opened two weeks ago, and had their grand opening last weekend. This is in the building that used to house Clarence’s which is located right at the Marc train station.

My first visit to the restaurant was a lunch with my 3 year old, my oldest daughter and a little girl who she babysits. We were a little taken back that there was no kids menu; however, they were able to accommodate the little ones since they have chicken tenders and fries on the menu.  If you have a child who doesn’t live for all forms of chicken fingers I am sure they would be willing to serve some of the mac and cheese which they use for one of their gourmet burgers.  My veggie eating daughter had limited choices; however, she was able to order the nachos without meat which were a nice sized portion and tasty. My choice was a little harder to make since I enjoy more options but I settled on the Classic burger with baked beans and coleslaw.

The burger was great!  I loved tasting a well-seasoned handmade burger and not a premade frozen patty. Oh, and these burgers are also huge ½ pounders, unless you feel insanely hungry and want to try the burger that is a whole pound. The sides were also very good, but I really enjoyed the coleslaw. It was like what you would expect at your favorite backyard picnic or tailgate party.

My second visit was with my husband and some friends of ours to watch Sunday Night Football. While the game was disappointing the location was certainly not. This is the perfect place to get together with friends to watch your favorite team play. They have TVs everywhere so you are able to catch everything. They have a nice wide selection of beer, and are even willing to make your teams signature drink! My husband and I ordered ½ lb. of steamed shrimp, and I have to say I can hardly wait to go back for more. Our friends also ordered the shrimp after hearing my raves and a burger as well. They too were so happy with their food they ordered a second ½ lb. of shrimp. I would also like to say that they are also very reasonably priced. After sitting there for 2 hours drinking and eating our bill was under $50.

They also have a live band or dj there on Saturday evenings. So I would say if you are looking for something different you should definitely check out Edgewood Station Sports Bar and Grill!
