Daughter of Bel Air Lawyer To Be Remembered Tuesday

Katherine McCarthy was the step-daughter of Bel Air lawyer, David Henninger.

Katherine ‘Katie Mac’ Michelle McCarthy, 30, of Knoxville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a single car accident.

Born December 22, 1982 in Baltimore she was the daughter of Patrick Allen McCarthy, Sr. and Kathy Sue Waesche Henninger. She was the step daughter of Roni Lynn McCarthy and David Henninger of Bel Air.

She had graduated from Franklin High School in 2001, attended Johnson Bible College 2007-2009 and was a month away from graduating from South College with a Bachelor of Science in nursing.

In addition to her parents she is survived by brothers Patrick A. McCarthy, II, Shane M. McCarthy and step sisters Jessie Ridgely, Julie Desmarais. Lisa Cox and Amy Busick. She is also survived by Grandparents Charles and Betty Waesche of Ocean Pines, step grandparents Ron and Suzanne Jones of Parsonsburg and Tom and Carolyn Collier of Westminster and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12 Noon at the Northwest Baptist Church, 300 Westminster Rd, Reisterstown, MD 21136 with the Rev Gary Glanville officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 10 Am-12 Noon at the church. The Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg are handling funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to South College School of Nursing Sunflower Scholarship Fund in honor of ‘Katie Mac’ McCarthy, 3904 Lonas Drive, Knoxville TN 37909.
