Constituent not happy with David Craig

I'm a Harford County resident living in Abingdon and am very disappointed in David Craig, County Executive and candidate for Governor.

You see, a few years ago the county purchased "Spencers Landfill" on Abingdon Rd. This purchase was made so that the county could expand the capacity of the water treatment plant. Along with that they, the county, would assume responsibility for the capping of the landfill. they purchased all but 13 acres of land separating the developments of "The Village of Bynum Run" and "Woodland Run". This land was left for Spencers to develop.

After the county purchased the land, they held a community meeting at the Abingdon Fire Station. The purpose of the meeting was to inform the residents as to what the plans were. Mr. Craig was there as were DPW representatives to explain in detail the expansion and the capping project. Mr. Craig assured us, many times, that Randall Dr. in the Village of Bynum Run and Peverly Run Rd in Woodland Run would never connect. This is what we, the residents wanted to hear. For the connection of the teo roads would create a thorougfare from Hookersmill Rd. over to Wegmans Shopping Center.

On Nov 20 the County DAC held a meeting at 0900 to discuss the development proposal for the 13 acres. It was to include 21 new homes and the connection of Peverly Run Rd and Randall Dr. Mind you, the meeting was at 0900 when most of us are at work. I personally contacted Mr. Gutwald of Planning and Zoning to officially protest the plan. He in turn turned me on to a Ms. Wilson, who said I could email my concerns to her to become part of the record. Which I did to include that the County Exec. promised us that the roads would never connect.

I received no further response from planning and zoning so I have tried on numerous occasions to contact Mr. Craig. I want to hear from him as to what happened to the promise you made us. Still no response from him.

I know that he is a man on a mission to become Governor of Maryland. Just check his facebook page. He is updating it constantly. But the last time I checked, he still is the County Executive for Harford, I am a constituent of his and I/we deserve a full explanation as to why these two roads are planned to be connected when you promised us they wouldnt be.

After numerous attempts to solicit a response to no avail, I am/was a staunch Craig supporter but now I am forced to reexamine the Republican options for Governor. A good man, County Executive and/or candidate for Governer should take the time to reply to his constituents about a promise he made them that he is now turning his back on.
