County Council lets down our Deputies again!

Harford County Council has passed the budget for the next year, and once again left out a raise for our police officers.  The deputies, who put their lives on the line every day to make the rest of us safe, have not had a raise in 7 years.  The new recruits who will be joining the force soon will be making the same salary as a deputy who has been on the job for 7 years.  Many deputies have part time jobs to make ends meet even though most work more than full time for the sheriff's office.  It's time our county council gives these deputies their due!

I think it leaves the question..."Where has all the money gone?"...

are we overseeing the crazy amounts of overtime some officers are taking? Certain people are putting their personal greed before the entire 'force'.

Recruits make $46,700 starting - are there officers that have been there for 7 years that still make $46,700?

I know an officer who started 7 yrs. ago and hasn't had a raise in all of that time. When the recruits graduate, they will be making the same wage as the officer I know.

I used to work for the county, very depressing place to work. I'd suggest a career change in which there is more room for growth.
