Election Year politics

On December 20 2013 Delegate Pat McDonough R-7 filed a complaint with the Baltimore County school boards ethics panel over a part time job superintendent Dallas Dance took with a company that received a contract with the Baltimore County school system in December 2012 therefore creating a conflict  of interest, Superintendent Dance has since resigned his consulting position with the firm. The county ethics panel which is an independent body reviewed Dr Dance's contract and the school systems ethic policy and determined that Dr. Dance's performance as superintendent was not adversely impacted by the part time consulting. The issue was addressed yet Del. McDonough wants to spend valuable time and money on an issue that is resolved to make political noise  with the elections season upon us. Should Dr. Dance had taken the position no  yet Dr Dance did the right thing and resigned. There are many more important issues that need to be addressed within our educational system. like worrying about our children and making sure we get the funding dollars to make sure each student gets a quality education. That our buildings have air conditioning  and heat in all classrooms and we hire and retain the best teachers to teach our children We need our legislators to spend time worrying about issues that are important and the problems that face us ahead instead of issues that are already resolved and have no impact on our children.
