Southern Harford Rotary Awards Funds Edgewood Middle School

Southern Harford Rotary recently awarded Edgewood Middle School a check for $850.00 to enhance the school’s extra-curricular program, EMS University.  The check was presented to the school principal, Patrice Brown.   Also in attendance were Dr. Robert Tomback, Harford County Superintendent of Schools; Dr. Jonathan Brown, Director of Community Engagement, Equity, and Cultural Proficiency; and Mrs. Barbara Canavan, Executive Director of Middle School Performance.

EMS University is program designed to help students who struggle to score at the proficiency level in reading and mathematics.  This after school program offers students the extra help needed to address any skill deficiency. EMS University serves the students as a means to promote high standards and the commitment to prepare students to be college and career ready.

The mission of Southern Harford Rotary is to assist children in southern Harford County reach their maximum potential.  The club is excited to support the children of the Edgewood Community through Harford County Public Schools.
