UPDATE: Man Shot in Edgewood

The victim was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

 

UPDATE (11:28 a.m. Tuesday)—A late afternoon shooting sent one man to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment Monday.

Around 4:15 p.m., received a call reporting shots fired in the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way in Edgewood, according to , public information officer with the sheriff's office.

When deputies arrived, they found a 22-year-old Edgewood man suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the torso, according to Worrell.

The victim was flown by medevac helicopter to shock trauma where he was listed in critical condition Monday night, Worrell said.

Police said they have a suspect in the shooting and do not believe it was a random act of violence.
