1 Trapped in Tollgate Road Accident

One person was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center after an afternoon crash in Bel Air.

One person was trapped in a vehicle after an accident on North Tollgate Road Wednesday afternoon, and emergency personnel ultimately cut the person free.

Around 1:50 p.m., emergency units with the were called to the scene of a vehicle crash in the 400 block of North Tollgate Road, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Deputy Chief 3 with the Bel Air fire company arrived first at the scene and notified members of the fire company the person needed to be extricated. The crew of the company's rescue 351 cut the roof and doors off the vehicle and removed the patient for EMS care.

One patient was taken by ambulance to for treatment, Gardiner wrote in an email to Patch.
