3 Hospitalized, Route 24 Closed after Crash

The Wednesday morning crash is snarling the rush hour commute in Bel Air.

Three people were taken to a local hospital, including one in "grave condition," after a crash in Bel Air Wednesday morning, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

The collision was reported around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the area of Wheel Road at Route 24.

Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company said its crew assisted the Abingdon Fire Department with a rescue in which one person was extricated using the jaws of life.

Route 24 traffic is being diverted onto Tollgate Road as of 9:15 a.m., Gardiner said.
